Polaiteoir Neamhspleách

Tá sé ráite go bhfuil seans ann go gcuirfear ainm David Norris ar aghaidh d’uachtaránacht na hÉireann, agus bhí an t-ábhar sin, an pósadh aerach, staid na mbanc sa tír srl., á bplé aige féin agus ag an láithreoir, Ryan Tubridy, ar an Late Late Show, Dé Sathairn seo caite.

Chuir Ryan ceist ar David Norris, fear atá aerach,

Do you think gay people should be equally as entitled to the same marriage as a man and woman getting married…?

Yes, I do’, arsa David Norris, ach bhí tuilleadh le rá aige ar an ábhar,

‘…I’ve always believed in the separation of church and state. I don’t believe that the church should be allowed to dictate to the state. Equally, I don’t think that the state should dictate to the church, so, I don’t believe it is right that the state should try to force churches, against their conscience, to marry people in the church, although, I have to say, some churches do…and I think they should be allowed to continue, because if they are not allowed to continue, if the law outlaws that, then that is a kind of religious discrimination.’

Is duine é David Norris a fheiceann an dá thaobh den scéal, feictear dom, duine a thuigeann fadhbanna na tíre seo, freisin, an méid seo le rá aige faoin rialtas agus faoi na bainc,

‘… all the money shouldn’t be just shovelled into the banks, it should be directed to ease the pain of ordinary decent Irish citizens…the banks did not want to know them when they were on the crest of a wave…they didn’t care a damn about us, and now we, the ordinary people are expected to bail them out…the least we can do is to look after our own ordinary decent people.

Fuair sé bualadh bos iontach ón lucht féachana sa stiúideo, agus ní haon ionadh é, i mo thuairim. Is polaiteoir neamhspleách é, le tuairimí neamhspleácha nach miste leis a roinnt go poiblí. Agus é ag labhairt ar an bpósadh aerach, bhí an méid seo le rá aige,

It amazes me too...in the newspapers for the last year or so, I’ve seen priests of various denominations blessing tractors, toys, and domestic pets…I mean, I don’t think it would kill them to bless two human beings, while they are at it, who love each other!’

Ní dóigh liom go maródh, a David. Bhí do bhualadh bos tuillte agat. I mo thuairim.
